  • "Henghel was music embodied: since the first contact with a tool, since childhood, through his studies at the Istituto Musicale "Achille Peri", until the beginning of his professional career was "the music". "He sang" and went out Sparks with the clarinet and his singing on a high register, that it doesn't find comparisons in the jazz world (his "glissato" and his "legato" have no equals until now), made him as the number one and the icon of the clarinet. He Cared for the teaching of music to young people (Conservatory in Modena, in Milano and in Cattolica, internship at the Sorbonne in Paris) that he wanted to convey his conviction about musical improvisation, as a means to express their creativity.. Wherever in the world you were my brother, with music, He could be mean and to be appreciated.
    Giancarlo Gualdi
  • "My brother, despite his residence first in Reggio Emilia and then in Bologna, many trips and the numerous awards received, has always been tied to his native country where he spent the first 20 years of his life and where he often returned to unwind and meet friends. So as a family we felt on one side only right, the other natural, give back to the community of S.Martino in Rio as in life he had produced , may be due to what Henghel had received from its territory. The foundation of the Henghel Gualdi Association, by a group of musicians and friends, and wih the collaboration with the municipal administration, were given more impetus to this project of the open archive for library housed in a prestigious Henghel Gualdi room on the main floor of the Rocca estense, of great interest to scholars and musicologists ".
